Where to Listen to This Episode
Writesonic Alternatives | Competitors to Writesonic.com (James Dooley Interviews Kasra Dash) is available on:
James Dooley: RyteSonic alternatives. Today, I'm joined with Kasra Dash and we're going to go through all the different competitors to RyteSonic. So, you might be looking for different AI visibility tools and you might have already used RyteSonic and be looking to move away and you're looking for what alternatives that they are. So, Kaz, take it away. What what alternatives are there to RyteSonic?
Kasra Dash: Yeah, so first of all, the main three reasons that what we could see online where people were actually moving away from RyteSonic was the free AI platforms that were tracked by below enterprise packages and then there was a big price jump between the different tiers as well. So, $79 to $199 and the third one as well is the unused articles don't roll over on billing. So, there was a few people complaining about that. Um Here are the seven shortlists that we will talk about and we've both used a variety of all of these different tools as well.
James Dooley: Yeah, so on that on the shortlist, we've got SEMrush. We've got ProFound. We've got Peak AI. We've got Ryte AI kit. We've got Ahrefs brand radar. We've got Surfer. And we've got Ultimately.ai. So, these are all alternatives to RyteSonic of what you might be wanting to do. So, if you want to briefly go through, do you want to start off like with the first one then? So, obviously, we've got SEMrush being an alternative to RyteSonic. Do you think that that's a a good alternative to RyteSonic?
Kasra Dash: So, this this comes down to the pricing cuz obviously, we did speak about how $199 is the the second pricing tier for RyteSonic. So, if you're happy with that pricing, then yes. Um I would probably say that the pros here is the amount of data that they have. I believe, I could be wrong in saying this, but I believe they are one of the oldest SEO tools. Um so, they have all of that data. Um they've got a really large keyword database, and they also have a free plan to test as well. Um the what the two cons that I could find was the extra users that cost more. So, like for example, if you're using the tool and maybe a colleague's you using the tool, you might need to pay and purchase extra seats. Um and the second con as well is they do have a lot of different tools to learn from, which I suppose it could be a pro, but it could also be a con for some people as well.
James Dooley: Yeah, for me, obviously the team use Semrush one quite a lot, and what they've said, um if where is an amazing alternative to Right Sonic, is because Semrush one is allows you within one dashboard to look at the SEO the old data and cross-reference it against the AI visibility. And there's a big Venn diagram overlap between SEO and AEO of what can be being done. So, yeah, a lot of them do does like for different businesses that I'm involved with, they do like Semrush one, and they do think it's a great alternative to Right Sonic. So, what about the second one then on the list then? So, obviously Profound.
Kasra Dash: Second is obviously Profound. Um again, they have a custom price, mainly down to the fact that they're targeting more enterprise companies. So, if you're enterprise, this is probably one for you.
James Dooley: Yeah, for sure. Again, the team um think that Profound is a good alternative for Right Sonic. Um the if I'm being honest with you, um there's less people using Profound within our agency than there is, let's say, Ahrefs or Semrush, cuz they do like it in being one encompassing thing. But then on the flip side, I've had one member of staff saying that's what quite like about Profile and that it is just for AI visibility itself and that's what they need to iron on. So, yeah, I can't say anything bad about it. I think that they generally speaking the people that are using it within the company think that Profile is a good alternative to Ryte Sonic.
Kasra Dash: Yeah, fourth on the list we have got Peak AI. Um Now, this is probably one of the more budget-friendly um tools out there. Um We We've We've We've obviously used this a bunch of times as well in the past. And what What What's What's your thoughts on it, James?
James Dooley: Yeah, so um I actually like Peak AI a lot. Um and I think the reason why I like Peak Peak AI a lot is because so Malte is one of the um directors and founders there. Um he shares a lot of data. Um he's in SEO himself. He understands what's needed to win to increase AI visibility in ChatGPT, um Google AI overviews, and stuff. But, they're consistently looking to innovate to improve upon the tool. So, yeah, I think Peak AI is certainly a great alternative to Ryte Sonic myself. But, what about you? What do you think about Peak AI?
Kasra Dash: I I just love the data studies that they that they do. Obviously, they have recently partnered up with Metahan, um the very well-known Turkish SEO. And he's doing a lot of tests. So, these guys outside of their just their SaaS business, um they're they're quite good people to actually follow uh just to figure out what's working and what's not. Um one thing that I would also like to specify is their pricing it is in euros. So, if you're in UK, for example, it's probably what, 70 lb maybe? If you're in US, maybe that's like $99 a month as well. Um so, yeah, really good tool. Really like the people there as well. Next on the list we have got RadarKit. Um You've obviously spoken to Jay. I've spoken to Jay. This is I think that they are the cheapest one on the market. So, if you're just getting into AI SEO, you don't really know if it's going to be worth it for your business, this is probably the best one that I would I would go with.
James Dooley: Yeah, if you're looking if price is an issue and you want the most affordable solution as an alternative to Ryte Sonic, then Ryte Arcade is brilliant. Um Jay is very active on YouTube and on social media. Um again, he shares quite a lot of data. Um I like the guy a lot. Um I like the idea that he's always trying to innovate as well. So, if you're looking for a budget solution as an alternative to Ryte Sonic, then yeah, Ryte Arcade certainly probably the best one with regards to the budget solution.
Kasra Dash: Yeah, I I think the the premise of this video is that there's going to be an option for every type of person, whether you're an enterprise, whether you've got budget in mind, whether you need something down the down the middle where you and your team can use as well. Um next on the list is Ahrefs brand radar.
James Dooley: Yeah, so I know Tim Soulo personally. Um I think he's done an amazing job there at Ahrefs. I think they've grown incredibly well. Um again, the feedback is that they love having the SEO side and the AI visibility side all within one dashboard that they can look at. They feel two in they believe to be the best on the marketplace. Um it is obviously a little bit more um expensive than obviously the ones like Ryte Arcade, but it's certainly a great alternative to Ryte Sonic in the fact that there's the data of what it has and how active that the Ahrefs [snorts] crawler is. Um it's I can't I can't knock it. I think it's an absolute great AI visibility tool.
Kasra Dash: Yeah. Next one is Surfer SEO. So, obviously we both know Mihail. Um this has been one thing that they've been pushing on quite a lot and I think that this is in a bit of an interesting one for me personally, because obviously Surfer's primarily known for being a content optimization tool. And however, they've now got into the AI visibility tracking route, but it actually kind of makes sense because for them to score content and be able to go out to the web and figure out what's good content and what's bad content, they they already kind of had the data there anyway. So, it's a it's a good bolt-on for them. Um James, what's what's your thoughts on on Surfer?
James Dooley: Yeah, Surfer's great. Um it's great for knowing how to write specific content, get the main entities and engrams on the page of what's needed. So, now they've got the AI visibility tracker in there, you can start literally seeing why some of your competitors are beating you out in ChatGPT, in Claude, in Perplexity, in Google AI overviews, or within Google AI mode. Um not only does it give you the AI visibility, it also then shows you the gaps in the content gap semantically for you to try and optimize for that. So, I I've loved seeing the growth all the way through. When I first met him several years ago in Chiang Mai, um Mihai and Lucian and lots of others they're the great guys. And yeah, I think it's a great alternative for myself to Rytr Sonic.
Kasra Dash: Yeah. And then last [clears throat] on the list, we have got otter.ai. Um this is again joint with Rytr Kit on pricing. Um similar amount of prompts as well. And they are to to my knowledge, they're a little bit newer than than the rest on the market. Like, I've only recently started seeing their ads and them being pushed maybe within like the last three to four months. Um but again, if you if you're just starting out in AI search and you don't really know if it's going to be beneficial for your company, this and Rytr Kit would probably be my go-to ones.
James Dooley: Yeah, it's again it falls down on the budget side of if someone need if someone need if someone starting out in the car afford a SEMrush one or an Ahrefs brand radar or a PKI and that's above their budget, this is a budget affordable solution. One thing I would say is the team have fed back that they believe that Red Arch it is better than Ottority and it's the same price. So if there was going to be if you have it if you're having to choose it on price, I probably go with the Red Arch it solution. However, Ottority is an overall alternative to Ryte Sonic if you are looking for a different competitor. What we are seeing is there's quite a lot of people that is doing AEO or GEO. They're actually signing up to two or three of these and they're cross-referencing and seeing what information comes back. So I do know that one or two of them have gone with let's say SEMrush one with Surfer SEO and also with like Red Arch it together cuz they've got the budget solution. They've got the SEMrush one which is using SEO and AI visibility and they've gone with like a Surfer because they want to find the content gaps. But I suppose it just comes back down to what budgets they have in mind, but there is seven different alternatives to Ryte Sonic. You definitely need to be The last bit of information for me, you definitely need to be looking to track your AI visibility to see all the different query find out terms, to see the sentiment dividers of what you might be falling short on to try and increase that AI visibility. But Casually, if I had to put you on the spot, if you had to choose two or three alternatives there to Ryte Sonic, which ones are you preferring out of the list of seven now?
Kasra Dash: I'm going to go with the three that the teams use the most which is SEMrush, Peak, and Red Arch it. That's primarily down to down to what my team actually use day in day out. Um I know that you've been using Ahrefs brand radar a little bit more than than what I have. So, for me right now, those are the three. Ask me in 2 3 months' time, I'm sure my answer would have probably changed.
James Dooley: Yeah, for anyone who's listening to this, we hope you like the episode about alternatives to RightSonic. Let us know in the comments section, is there any other competitors to RightSonic that you would recommend regards to AI visibility tracking?
