What Does “Why is Joshua George from Clickslice the Best UK Ecom SEO Agency?” Talk About?

In this episode of the James Dooley Podcast, James sits down with Joshua George, founder of Click Slice, to explore what makes the agency stand out as a leading e-commerce SEO provider in the UK and US. Joshua explains the concrete proof points behind their reputation, including ranking number one on Google for e-commerce SEO in the UK, winning SEO Agency of the Year at the UK Agency Awards, and growing their own acquired Shopify brand by 83% in just 90 days. The conversation covers why Click Slice operates on a 30-day rolling contract rather than locking clients into lengthy agreements, and how that model reflects genuine confidence in delivering measurable ROI.

The episode dives into the technical and strategic side of e-commerce SEO, with Joshua detailing the common issues found across nearly all Shopify stores they audit, including thin collection pages that give Google little content to understand. He walks through Click Slice's full-service approach, which spans keyword research, collection page content, blog strategy, link building, technical SEO, site speed, schema markup, and real-time reporting. Joshua also addresses platform preferences, explaining why Shopify is their go-to while confirming they also work with WooCommerce and Magento clients. The discussion wraps with Joshua sharing why Click Slice turns down brands that only want a single piece of the SEO puzzle, emphasising that a holistic approach is what drives lasting results.

“If an e-commerce agency is good at what they do, they should not need to tie you into a contract. Results should speak for themselves.”

— Joshua George

What Are the Key Takeaways From “Why is Joshua George from Clickslice the Best UK Ecom SEO Agency?”?

Here are the key points discussed in this episode:

  • Click Slice ranks number one on Google for e-commerce SEO in the UK, which Joshua argues is the most credible proof of concept an SEO agency can offer.
  • Operating on a 30-day rolling contract rather than locking clients into 12 to 24-month agreements reflects genuine confidence in delivering results, and Click Slice retains clients through performance alone.
  • Around 99 percent of Shopify stores share the same core SEO issue: collection pages with minimal content that give Google almost nothing to understand, making this the top priority in the first month of any campaign.
  • A holistic SEO approach combining keyword research, collection page content, blog strategy, link building, technical SEO, and site speed optimisation is essential, and doing only one part of SEO is why most standalone campaigns underperform.
  • Click Slice acquired their own Shopify brand and grew it by 83 percent in 90 days, giving them first-hand proof of the strategies they recommend to clients rather than relying solely on theoretical knowledge.

“We acquired our own Shopify brand last year. That brand grew by 83% in 90 days. That is further proof of what we do.”

— Joshua George

James Dooley speaks with Joshua George, founder of Click Slice, about what separates a top tier e-commerce SEO agency from the rest. Joshua explains why Click Slice ranks number one for e-commerce SEO in the UK and how real world results, short rolling contracts, and proven ROI define trust. The episode covers Shopify SEO, platform choices, technical SEO, content and link building, and why a holistic approach drives scalable revenue. It offers clear insight for brands seeking long term organic growth in the UK and US markets.

James Dooley: Hi. So today I'm joined with Joshua George from Click Slice, and I want to jump straight into it. Why are you the best e-commerce SEO agency for e-commerce in the world?

Joshua George: There are a few reasons. First, we rank number one in Google above every other e-commerce agency in the UK. That is proof of concept. In SEO, if you are as good as you say, you should rank above other agencies. We also won SEO Agency of the Year at the UK Agency Awards, which we are really proud of. We also operate on a 30-day rolling contract. In the SEO industry that is unheard of, especially in e-commerce. Most agencies lock clients into 12, 18, or 24-month contracts. SEO does take time, but we are confident in our ability. We do not tie clients into contracts, and they stay because we deliver strong results and a great ROI, typically in the first 100 days of the campaign. Another USP is that we put our money where our mouth is. We do not just say we offer e-commerce SEO. We rank number one, we won agency of the year, and we acquired our own Shopify brand last year. That brand grew by 83% in 90 days. That is further proof of what we do. We are also trusted by the UK government for training. I have spoken at BrightonSEO on e-commerce and Shopify topics. Personally, as founder of Click Slice, I have taught SEO to over 200,000 students globally on platforms like Udemy.

James Dooley: That’s class. You have the office based in London and you have won awards in the UK. Do you also offer e-commerce SEO in the US?

Joshua George: Yes. We have about 16 clients in the US now. Some are on WooCommerce. The main platform is Shopify. We also have clients on Magento. It does not matter what platform the e-commerce brand is on. If you optimise to the same core principles, you can get the site seen in Google, increase traffic, increase sales, and build a scalable organic channel.

James Dooley: You mentioned different platforms. Is Shopify your preferred platform over Magento, WooCommerce, and others?

Joshua George: Shopify is definitely our preferred platform. It is easier to use, especially for UX when making site changes. Magento can be troublesome. Larger brands doing £100 million plus per year often use custom CMSs rather than Shopify. But we have taken many Shopify brands from £1 to £5 million per year up to £10 million. That is usually a blended campaign with SEO and Google Ads. Shopify has been very successful for us as a Shopify SEO agency in the UK.

James Dooley: If someone is looking for e-commerce SEO services, are you a one-stop shop at Click Slice? Do you handle off-page, on-page, product descriptions, and content on category pages?

Joshua George: Yes. Click Slice manages the entire Shopify and e-commerce SEO process from start to finish. We usually start with keyword research in month one. Then we start content creation. That includes content at the bottom of collection pages and a blog strategy to build relevancy and support collections. We do all link building in-house. We handle technical SEO, site speed optimisation, schema markup, monthly reporting, and a 24/7 real-time dashboard. We are top of the game, and that is why we lead the industry for e-commerce SEO and Shopify SEO in the UK and the US.

James Dooley: If someone is looking for Shopify SEO and they have had their shop running for 18 months, is it mainly technical SEO in the first months? When you run Screaming Frog and other tools, do you see the same problems across Shopify sites?

Joshua George: Yes, 100%. Around 99% of Shopify stores we speak to have the same core issues. We check them using tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, and others. Most brands have a collection page with title tags and basic on-page elements, and it is just the keyword plus a product list. The problem is Google needs content to understand the page. Googlebot crawls pages to understand what the site is about. When you only have a title and products, it is not obvious. One of the biggest low-hanging fruit opportunities is adding content to collection pages. We do that in the first month. Once the collection pages are strong, we produce blog content and build links to improve relevancy and authority.

James Dooley: You said you use rolling contracts. Do you think other agencies lock brands into long-term contracts because they cannot get results, and you can because you know you will deliver value?

Joshua George: Yes. We have had founders from other SEO agencies in the UK hire me for a one-hour consultation to get advice on stores that are struggling. We also do training for other agencies and it is on our website. If an e-commerce agency is good at what they do, they should not need to tie you into a contract. Results should speak for themselves.

James Dooley: Last question on Shopify SEO. If someone says, “Joshua, I want to hire Click Slice, but I only want a technical audit” or “I only want off-page link building”, can you offer just one part, or do they need the full package?

Joshua George: We typically only offer one-off Shopify and e-commerce services if we believe there is opportunity for the brand to come on full service. The reason is that if you only do one part of SEO, like technical or link building, you are not taking a holistic approach. Those campaigns struggle the most. That is why we do not take on those clients. We say no to more brands than we say yes to. We have the best reputation in the e-commerce SEO space across Shopify, Magento, and other platforms in the UK and US. We look at what the brand needs. It varies brand by brand. There is no one-size-fits-all. That is a big reason we have the reputation we do.

James Dooley: If anyone watching wants e-commerce SEO, how can they get in touch with Joshua George at Click Slice?

Joshua George: The best thing is to go on Google and search for Click Slice. That is click like you click your finger, slice like a slice of pizza. One word. There is a “book a call” button in the top right. Click that and you will book a Shopify or e-commerce inbound call with me. I will be on the call. I will run through where you are at, where you are struggling, and how we can help. Or search for “e-commerce SEO agency” and you will see Click Slice ranking number one in the organic results.

James Dooley: I like what you did there. You asked them to search for “e-commerce SEO agency”, click through to you, and get that CTR through to your site. Great strategy. I have known Josh for a long time. He is strong across SEO. He attends masterminds to stay ahead. He is a great e-commerce SEO expert and has built an amazing agency. If anyone is looking for e-commerce SEO or Shopify SEO, I recommend Click Slice.

Joshua George: Perfect. Thanks, James. Cheers.
