In this episode of the James Dooley Podcast, host James Dooley interviews Kasra Dash to break down the best alternatives and competitors to Scrunch AI (scrunch.com), an AI visibility tracking tool. The conversation opens with why businesses might consider leaving Scrunch, primarily its pricing which starts around $250 to $300 a month, positioning it more toward the enterprise market than smaller businesses. From there, the pair run through seven specific alternatives, weighing each on price, data access, model coverage, and real-world team feedback.

For each tool, James and Kasra share hands-on observations, such as Peak AI offering unlimited seats and daily tracking at more than half the price, Profound's custom enterprise pricing requiring a sales call, Semrush's semantic and business dividers going deeper than query funnels, and Ahrefs Brand Radar's strength in data and crawler activity for breaking into AI overviews.

The episode wraps with each host naming their top three recommendations. James favors Semrush One, Peak AI, and Radar Kit as a budget option, while Kasra picks Radar Kit for budget users, Ahrefs Brand Radar or Semrush for a holistic approach, and Peak AI for pure AI tracking. They also touch on tools like Rank Ability by Nathan Gotch, which covers 11 AI platforms per plan and continuously tests new features.

Scrunch AI Alternatives | Competitors to Scrunch.com (James Dooley Interviews Kasra Dash) is available on:

James Dooley: Scrunch AI alternatives. If you're looking for competitors to scrunch.com, maybe you've signed up with them as being like an AI visibility tool and you're looking to leave and you're looking for the best alternatives to scrunch, then today I'm joined with Kasra Dash and we're going to go through all the different alternatives to scrunch. So, Kasra, let's take it away.

Kasra Dash: Yeah, so few reasons as to why people might consider canceling with scrunch. Um obviously the pricing is one thing. So, they start at around $250 $300 a month. And then they I would probably consider them at that pricing more to do with like enterprise. May maybe you might disagree with me, James. Um and then the actual price um Yeah, the the the the price for like smaller businesses might be a little bit too much. What what what do you think to that?

James Dooley: Yeah, I think it's on the high end. Um I think they're kind of comparable to um let's say Ahrefs, Brand Radar, and Profound, and Semrush one. Um the issue for me personally is um when if you're comparing it to somebody like Semrush one or you're comparing it to Ahrefs, Brand Radar, is there's a lot more to it from an SEO as well as an AI visibility of what can be done underneath one dashboard. Um so, I'd say the direct competition is probably Profound on the AI visibility side of things. Um but yeah, I mean, the team the team are using it. They do like it. They think Scrunch AI is a good AI visibility tracker. Um but obviously here we're here to talk about the alternatives. So, someone isn't happy with it and they're looking for an alternative. On the list we have Peak AI. We have Profound. We have Semrush AI toolkit, which falls underneath the Semrush one. Branding. We've got Ahrefs brand radar. We've got Radar Kit. We've got Rank Scale. And we've got Rank Ability. So, Kaz, let's take it away. Let's look at the first competitor to Scrunched, which is Peak AI.

Kasra Dash: Yeah, so Peak AI, team's been using it. This the pricing is in euros, so just bear that in mind if you're watching this maybe in US or if you're watching this in UK. Um there might be a little bit of a difference there when you go to their landing page. Um the pros are that obviously it is cheaper than Scrunched. You do have unlimited seats. As of recording this, that might potentially change. They do daily tracking on all of their plans as well. The only slight issue that you do have is that there are only three models per plan. So, that's the one drawback with Peak. If I'm being honest with you, I think that for the free models, it's probably more than enough. Like, who's who's realistically using some of the some of the slower and smaller models anyway. And then you also do have your prompts in Scrunched's starter plan as well.

James Dooley: Yeah, so obviously the team feedback with regards to Peak AI versus Scrunched. And they said that the comparable if anything, they actually said that they think Peak AI is slightly better. So, at more than half the price, then Peak AI is a great alternative when it comes to Scrunched AI.

Kasra Dash: Yeah, the next one on the list is obviously Profound. Now, Profound from a pricing point of view is probably going to be the same as Scrunched. The only slight pros that you do obviously have is that one, we both think that the the data that that Profound has and scrapes every single month is a lot more than Scrunched. You still do have unlimited seats and you also have a dedicated support, um, as well. Um, the cons, which I think that would probably turn a few people off, is that obviously they've got custom pricing, so you actually need to get on a actual call for them to to actually buy. In certain companies, that's not an issue, like the larger brands, the larger, um, companies, they don't really mind that. If you are probably starting out in AI search and you're maybe not too sure, um, this might not be the best option for you.

James Dooley: Yeah, for sure. The The feedback from us is that Profound is comparable to Scrunch AI. Um, both of them similar on price and similar with regards to what they can do. Um, there is, I believe, better alternatives to Profound if you are looking for Scrunch, um, from what the team is saying, but if you are looking for an enterprise AI visibility tool alternative to Scrunch, then Profound is definitely one that you could be looking into.

Kasra Dash: Yeah. Next on the list is SEMrush AI visibility toolkit or otherwise also known as the SEMrush One Suite. Um, this is a lot cheaper than than Scrunch. You also do get a lot more, I think, for your for your money. What What's What's your thoughts on that, James?

James Dooley: Yeah, for um, SEMrush AI visibility, I'm loving the semantic dividers and the business dividers. So, it goes a lot deeper than just query funnel. Um, it's showing you information of where you can be winning semantically in very specific paragraphs that you could be changing a negative sentiment into a positive sentiment. It also does everything else of what Scrunch AI does. I think it's a great alternative to Scrunch and yeah, um, the team are a massive fan of the SEMrush One Toolkit. Um, having that all-in-one dashboard with regards to SEO and AI visibility, um, SEMrush is a superb alternative, for sure.

Kasra Dash: Yeah. Uh, next on the list we have got Ahrefs brand radar. Now, this is one that you've been using a lot more. Um, I would say that the the one advantage that Ahrefs brand radar obviously has is the data uh, that they have access to, the amount of websites that they uh, obviously have access to, and how active the actual crawler is as well. Um, which is which is obviously massive, especially if you're trying to break into the AI overviews and stuff like that as well. What's what's your thoughts on Ahrefs brand radar?

James Dooley: Yeah, I mean, Ahrefs the team the SEO team prefer Ahrefs over any other product that is on the marketplace. But, what is actually weird is that when you put um, SEO and AI visibility together, the a lot teams seem to prefer the Semrush one toolkit as being combined. However, the ones that do love the filtering process within Ahrefs, and they don't want to move away from that, brand radar is a superb add-on to track AI visibility. All in one dashboard, I think Ahrefs brand radar is a superb alternative to Scrunched AI. I don't think there's any point in having, if you're already using Ahrefs for SEO, I would then just get the bolt-on of brand radar for the AI visibility.

Kasra Dash: Yeah. Uh, next on the list, we have got Radar Key, which is obviously by um, Jay. Now, this is probably one for the people that have like a tighter budget. They They aren't necessarily sure if AI search is for their business. This is like a good gateway in, um, and it also does a really good job of actually tracking as well.

James Dooley: Yeah, so if you're looking for a competitor to Scrunched AI, and you're looking for a cheaper solution, then Radar Key is a great alternative for you to look into. Um, it's not on the enterprise level like Scrunched AI is, but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to scrunch.com, then Jay does a great job, and Radar Key does well with the query finite terms in chat GPT, and all the other large language models. So, yeah, I'm a I'm a big believer that it's a good budget alternative.

Kasra Dash: Yeah, for sure. Uh next on the list we have got Rank Scale. Um now, they are they they offer like a free to 7-day free trial, which is always a a benefit when you're testing out these features, especially if you're swapping over from Scrunched to um an alternative and you just want to test out. Um few of the pros are obviously unlimited search terms. Um all regions are also included, and they also do have a white label. So, this could be a a massive win for agencies, especially if you're trying to like white label reports at the end of the month um for your clients. Um some of the cons are obviously there are credit limits um that when it comes to tracking volume, and also the API. So, if you're trying to use like an API, for example, um you do need to upgrade to the $229 a month plan, um which could potentially be a bit of an issue for a lot of the people that do like custom reports and want to use like MCPs and and APIs to pull in and extract data from certain tools.

James Dooley: Yeah, so we we're testing this on a few sites, and we um we're using the API. Um it is comparable in price when you look at it alongside Scrunched AI, cuz it is an enterprise package, and I think this is why we've included Rank Scale on this one, cuz it is like Profound. It is the enterprise type of market when you're looking to use the API on there. Feedback is is good in general. Um some of the team are preferring Scrunched one, our Brand Radar, or they're preferring Peak AI. Um but yeah, as an alternative to Scrunched, alongside Profound, Rank Scale is an enterprise AI visibility tool, which is comparable to Scrunched.com.

Kasra Dash: Yeah. And then, number seven, last on the list, we have got Rank Ability. So, Rank Ability is by Nathan Gotch, I believe. Um it does 11 AI platforms on every single plan. Um, you can do you can add in unlimited clients and also team members and it also does tracking and content um as well. So, you can it will basically show you the the the queries that you're actually being suggested for and it will also suggest to you content that you potentially might be missing on your website. Um, 7-day free trial card is actually needed and queries are shared across all clients as well.

James Dooley: Yeah, so Nathan Gotch is a great SEO specialist. Um, what I quite like and how we've kind of put when we're looking at the Scrunch AI alternatives, I wanted to try and make certain we had like a budget option, we had comparable options and then here, similar to PKI, they're the mid-range on price. Um, what I love about Nathan Gotch is he's continuously testing. So, if something else comes out that's new, he will be including that within Rankability and it is a great AI visibility tracker. So, you could have it as a mid-range alternative to Scrunch AI. I'm a big fan of Nathan Gotch as well. So, yeah, it's another alternative there, but what for me, um, I'd say the main three if I'm throwing myself into throwing myself in the deep end, I would say Semrush one, um, would be certainly one of the best alternatives to Scrunch AI, Peak AI and if you're going with a budget option, I would say Radar Kit. So, they're my three main alternatives to Scrunch AI, but what about yourself, Kazer? What are your main three alternatives to Scrunch?

Kasra Dash: Main three for me is um Radar Kit for a budget-friendly, um, especially if you if you don't want the the $200, $300 plans, definitely Radar Kit for that. Um, then if you want like a a holistic tool, um, I'm going to either pick between Ahrefs, Brand Radar or Semrush AI toolkit. And if you just want a tool that is like specifically for AI tracking, it would probably be Peak AI.

James Dooley: Yeah, so anyone who's watching this, let us know who you think are the main competitors and the best alternatives to Scrunch AI. Have we missed anybody off that you think is great for AI visibility tracking?
