James Dooley: How Be The Brand AI Recommends helps get your business recommended in Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. Today I'm joined with Peter Jones and Paul Truscott, who are the founders of BeTheBrandAIRecommends.com. So Paul, I'm going to start with yourself, and this is specifically for Google. So Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. What's the first things that you would be looking at to try and increase citations and get recommended also within Google AI Overviews?

Paul Truscott: Yeah. So, obviously there on a local level, get that Google Business Profile set up. Go and get the reviews on that Google Business Profile. Obviously, that creates a KGM ID for the location of where they're based, which is great, that actual Google Business Profile. But Peter, BeTheBrandAIRecommends.com, right, the first thing that is normally going out there apart from the AI SEO audit is a brand SSOT questionnaire. How important is the brand SSOT and what even is a brand SSOT?

Peter Jones: So, yeah, start with what it is. The brand single source of truth is a document compiled with every fact about the business that is made public and can be found out about the business from the web as it is already. So, at BeTheBrandAIRecommends.com, we have an onboarding questionnaire, um, which is powered by AI and it finds everything else... Everything out about your business, your brand, from the internet, pulls it all into one place for you to verify if it's correct or not. And then we ask you additional questions to... So we can build your brand SSOT for you.

James Dooley: So Paul, on there, if we... Obviously we've done a lot of testing on this and the brand SSOT has been a game changer for so many brands that I've been working on. And the main reason being is because of hallucinations. Anyone who's listening to this who might be thinking, I'm a business owner and I want to get cited and recommended in Google AI Overviews or Google AI Mode. Can you explain to them what even hallucinations are within artificial intelligence?

Paul Truscott: Yeah, building that confidence and clarity is so important on the entity. It's, it's key. Uh, you don't want to leave it, like you said there, to choice. You don't want to have AI hallucinating and then any third-party corroboration that's going out there is incorrect. It's going to then raise disambiguation for the brand. And if they don't have the confidence and clarity, doesn't matter what reputation you have. If one of your competitors have got more confidence and clarity, they're going to be citing those over yours.

James Dooley: Pete... Peter, now I want to talk about building the reputation because it's fine to define who you are and what you do, but why you are brilliant. So we, we within BeTheBrandAIRecommends.com, we've broken it down to six different pillars. So one of them being trying to have a cost page if we can. So we're defining an entity, attribute, value on the cost because we feel that's important. Amount of businesses that don't want to put a cost on the website is scary. And I get it. Sometimes if you're trying to price up doing a roof, it depends on the size. It depends on the height of the roof. It depends on the access. It depends on what type of material that they're using. There's lots of different reasons why costs in every single project could be different. But defining a cost is important. We've got one of the other pillars is reviews. One of the other ones is testimonials. One of them is accreditations. One of them is case studies. And then one of them is awards. They're the six pages after we've done the brand SSOT that we want on our own website. And moving forward after that, what we want to try to do is corroborate that everywhere else on the internet. How important is the reputation roots, is what we call it, to build the reputation tree out before we... And put it on our own website before we start trying to echo it elsewhere?

Peter Jones: Yeah, it's huge. It, it expands upon the single source of... Source of truth about the business. So the... In the single source of truth, we might have, like, it's that this business is on Trustpilot and has over a thousand reviews. The reviews page, we're going to pull in reviews that highlight specific things about the business, um, where they... Where they've exceeded a customer's expectations on one thing or another, um, and highlight... Highlight those for the AI engines, um, on, on the... On the website of the business and then echo that offsite as well.

James Dooley: Yeah, for sure. So, anyone who's look... Anyone who's listening to this and they're wanting to try to get more citations, they're looking to try to get recommended by Google AI Mode or Google AI Overviews, make sure you head on over to BeTheBrandAIRecommends.com. We can do a full AI SEO audit. We can then start looking to create that brand SSOT. Get those important pages shouting and screaming about what reviews that you have, what testimonials you have, what case studies that you've done, what awards you might have won, and then amplify that all over the internet. After that, we can then start looking at comparison articles, listicles, and everything else, which is what I would normally say is the fruits of the tree. It's the last thing that you should be doing. Get those roots right from the start. Defining the entity, build that reputation up, and then at that point start to tackle why you are better than all competition. And that is how you win the race with Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. Peter and Paul, it's been an absolute pleasure.
